Karater
Guram Baghdoshvili lived and worked many years in Portugal before returning to Georgia, where he became a media figure and an ambassador for his country’s cuisine. In 2024 he came back to Lisbon and opened Karater in Bairro Alto. In a former dairy shop, the chef serves khinkali, khachapuri, and other classics with Portuguese ingredients and an amphora‑wine list that pays homage to Georgia’s winemaking tradition. It’s also a place with serious cool.
Mon–Thu 4:00 PM–1:00 AM; Fri–Sun 1:00 PM–1:00 AM.

O Velho Eurico
There’s no restaurant in Lisbon quite like Velho Eurico—and many follow in its footsteps. Zé Paulo Rocha and Fábio Algarvio took an old tasca and gave it new life without erasing its history, and with plenty of attitude. The music is loud, the service close and fuss‑free, and the food consistently great. Excellent Portuguese small plates, backed by fine‑dining technique and know‑how. Reservations are essential (and early), but a daily waitlist opens—arrive early to secure a place.
Tue 7:30–10:30 PM; Wed–Sun 12:00–3:00 PM / 7:30–10:30 PM.

Sr. Manuel Seafood Bar
On the lively, bustling Rua Amarela, this is the perfect spot for lovers of great small plates. Sr. Manuel Seafood Bar is a modern cervejaria, and as the name suggests the menu focuses on seafood. Alongside more traditional dishes, there are more sophisticated options. The cocktail list is well worth exploring.
Thu–Tue 12:00 PM–12:00 AM; Wed 6:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Furnas do Guincho
When it comes to fish and seafood, Furnas do Guincho doesn’t miss. Another local classic facing the sea, it’s especially sought on weekends for big family gatherings around the table. Service is attentive and professional, in an elegant yet relaxed setting.
Mon–Sun 12:30 PM–12:00 AM.

Porto Santa Maria
With nearly 80 years of history, Porto Santa Maria is one of Portugal’s historic restaurants. On the Guincho road, facing the sea, fish and seafood are the foundation of a cuisine faithful to tradition, always served with top‑quality ingredients. Service is immaculate, old‑school and attentive—another reason this classic remains a multi‑generation reference.
Mon–Sun 12:00–4:00 PM / 7:15–11:30 PM.

Maré
On the Guincho road in Cascais, Maré by José Avillez lives off its closeness to the sea. The restaurant is dedicated to fish and seafood, offering both classic dishes and the chef’s contemporary interpretations. It’s divided into two areas—one more classic with white tablecloths and another more relaxed—sharing the same menu.
Mon–Sat 12:00–4:00 PM / 6:00–11:00 PM; Sun 12:00–4:00 PM.

Irmão
On Praia do Castelo, in Costa da Caparica, Irmão (or Praia Irmão as it was first called) is more than a restaurant or beach bar: it’s a place designed to be lived from morning to night. Eat with your feet in the sand or at the table, have a drink at sunset, and even dance (sometimes until morning). The Mediterranean‑inspired cooking favors sharing and fresh flavors. The vibe is light and relaxed, with a boho spirit that blends beach, music, and party effortlessly.
Mon–Tue 12:00–11:00 PM; Fri–Sun 12:00 PM–12:00 AM.

BAHR & Terrace
At the top of Bairro Alto Hotel, with views of the Tagus and a terrace perfect for cocktails, BAHR enters a new cycle under chef Fábio Pereira, from the Ritz Four Seasons. The mission is to continue the path set by chefs Nuno Mendes and Bruno Rocha, balancing tradition and modernity with a sharp eye for product. At lunch there’s an executive menu of Portuguese classics, while dinner brings a more technical, inventive approach. On weekends, the focus shifts to an à la carte brunch.
Mon–Fri 12:30–4:00 PM / 7:00 PM–12:00 AM; Sat–Sun 1:00–4:00 PM.

Lumi Rooftop
At the top of The Lumiares Hotel & Spa, yet open to the city from the outset. Lumi Rooftop aims to serve Lisbon and its locals. The atmosphere is calm, and the striking city view sets the scene. In the kitchen, traditional recipes are reinterpreted. The cocktail list is worth a look.
Mon–Fri 12:00 PM–12:00 AM; Sat–Sun 11:30 AM–2:30 PM / 3:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Seen by Olivier
The view is unbeatable and the vibe festive, as Olivier da Costa knows so well how to craft. On the top floor of the Tivoli Avenida, Seen is the right choice for those who enjoy lively, well‑watered dinners. There’s a well‑composed cocktail list, and to eat, sushi is part of the draw, but there’s much more (tacos, salads, carpaccios, pastas, fish and meat dishes). At the panoramic Sky Bar, lunch is also available.
Sun–Thu 6:30 PM–1:00 AM; Fri–Sat 6:30 PM–2:00 AM.
