The wine-making jars are part of the rustic decor of this typical Alentejan restaurant. Located in the historic center, it has been serving generous portions with friendly service for over 30 years.

O Alpendre
O Alpendre is one of those restaurants where, when you arrive, you’ll already find some starters waiting for you at the table, including the famous empadas de Arraiolos. It’s the perfect start to a meal that can’t go wrong with Alentejan dishes prepared with care and dedication in the kitchen.

The cuisine is traditional, with small plates mostly from the Alentejo— the tomato soup is excellent, and if you’re lucky enough to find jaquinzinhos (fried baby horse mackerel), don’t miss them. At Porto Santana, Dália welcomes guests as if they were in her own home. In warm wood tones, the restaurant feels cozy and family-run.

In the wood-fired oven, both bread and the house specialties are cooked to perfection, including alcatra (a traditional slow-cooked beef dish) and bean stew. Ti Choa is a typical family restaurant where you’ll quickly feel at home. The Azores are served at the table. Don’t leave without trying the vinegar pudding.
