Zunzum Gastrobar

Before the Michelin‑starred Marlene, chef Marlene Vieira was already turning heads at Zunzum. It’s a bright, spacious restaurant with a great terrace in Jardim do Tabaco, facing the Tagus. The mood is relaxed, like the food offering, designed for sharing. The menu is rooted in Portugal but open to the world, with international techniques. Throughout the year, the chef hosts special themed weeks (there’s been a Francesinha week and a seafood week, among others). Worth keeping an eye on.

Mon–Thu 12:00–11:00 PM; Fri–Sat 12:00 PM–12:00 AM; Sun 12:00–5:00 PM.

Irmão

On Praia do Castelo, in Costa da Caparica, Irmão (or Praia Irmão as it was first called) is more than a restaurant or beach bar: it’s a place designed to be lived from morning to night. Eat with your feet in the sand or at the table, have a drink at sunset, and even dance (sometimes until morning). The Mediterranean‑inspired cooking favors sharing and fresh flavors. The vibe is light and relaxed, with a boho spirit that blends beach, music, and party effortlessly.

Mon–Tue 12:00–11:00 PM; Fri–Sun 12:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Mona Verde

At the top of the Embassy of Denmark building, between Avenida da Liberdade and Príncipe Real, sits one of the rooftops of the moment. It’s not only beautiful and lively, it also offers an incredible view over the city—and you eat very well. In the kitchen is chef Inga Martin, from the much‑missed Go A Lisboa. On some nights there’s live music and room to dance.

Vela Latina

A Lisbon classic that refreshed itself years ago to gain several lives and formats—without ever losing quality. On one side you’ll find traditional Portuguese cooking; on the other, a Nikkei menu that fuses Peruvian and Japanese cuisines. There’s also a charcuterie and a pizzeria. All of this unfolds in a beautiful space on Doca do Bom Sucesso in Belém, complete with a great terrace.

Mon–Thu 12:00 PM–11:00 PM; Fri–Sat 12:00 PM–12:00 AM.

JNcQUOI Asia

Born just a few doors down from JNcQUOI Avenida and conceived, like the flagship, down to the tiniest detail. The space is cosmopolitan and full of life — it’s in Lisbon, but it could be in Bangkok, Beijing, or Tokyo. The menu is extensive and travels across multiple Asian destinations. The interior terrace is unmissable. And there’s more: a Chinese restaurant called Frou Frou is tucked away inside, where you can also dine late to live music.

Sun–Wed 12:00 PM–12:00 AM; Thu–Sat 12:00 PM–2:00 AM.
