Chico Elias
It’s hard not to feel at home in this restaurant. Every visit feels like that, thanks to the friendly service and, above all, the comforting food. Chico Elias is a historic establishment in Tomar, serving dishes like (yes, really), , or duck with migas, all cooked in a wood-fired oven (which requires choosing dishes at the time of booking).
Fri 12:30 PM-4:00 PM / Sat 12:30 PM-11:00 PM / Sun 12:30 PM-4:00 PM.

Rural 150
The place is unique, perfect for families. There’s plenty of space for outdoor play, with the added advantage of the restaurant being by the river, where various activities are planned (even boat rides). At the restaurant, the regional recipes are followed with a chef’s touch.
Mon-Fri 12:30 PM-3:00 PM, 7:00 PM-10:00 PM / Sun 12:30 PM-4:00 PM.

A Cozinha
It’s the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Minho and is becoming more refined. António Loureiro draws from the region, between the sea and the mountains, to tell a story, committed to sustainability without limiting creativity. The restaurant is beautiful and modern.
Tue-Sat 12:30 PM-3:30 PM, 7:30 PM-11:00 PM.

Cachalote
The setting is stunning, nestled between the sea and the volcanic rocks that formed the Natural Pools of Porto Moniz. The restaurant is quite large, with large windows that act like picture frames. On the menu, the flavors of the sea stand out, especially seafood and fish.
Mon-Sun 10:00 AM-7:00 PM.

Kampo
Júlio Pereira is dynamic and has contributed greatly to Madeira’s gastronomic culture in recent years. He opened Kampo, where he began exploring the richness of regional ingredients in a menu focused mainly on meats. This was followed by Akua, focusing on fish, and more recently the vegetarian Kouve.
Mon-Sun 12:30 PM-11:00 PM.

Vila do Peixe
In the upper part of the historic center, with huge windows that make the incredible view part of the experience, Vila de Peixe is, as the name suggests, the right choice for fresh fish. The variety available is always extensive, and the limpets and whelks are must-try snacks.
Mon-Sun 12:00 PM-10:30 PM.

Choupana
The location could be everything, but then there’s also the atmosphere and the food. This Choupana looks like a beachside cabin. It specializes in grilled dishes, especially fresh fish. It’s great for lunch, but at the end of the day, if you’re lucky, you’ll catch the sunset.
Tue-Sat 10:00 AM-10:00 PM.

O Beijinha
Located at the Sines dock, it’s been a success for many years. The reason is simple: good grilled food and always fresh fish. It has an enviable display of fish and seafood. The atmosphere is relaxed, with the added curiosity that everything is cooked in front of the customer.
Mon-Sun 11:30 AM-3:30 PM.

Lamelas
With training and a career in fine dining, chef Ana Moura swapped Lisbon for Porto Côvo and, at Lamelas, gives Alentejan gastronomy a new look, showcasing small local producers. With technique and knowledge, the chef respects tradition while adding creativity. And there’s also the view of Porto Covo Bay.
Tue-Sun 12:30 PM-2:30 PM, 7:30 PM-10:30 PM.

Poda
The foundation is traditional, though there’s always room for some interpretation. The most important thing is the product, almost always sourced from small local producers – even the wines. In 2024, Poda received the Bib Gourmand for its excellent quality-to-price ratio.
Wed-Sun 12:30 PM-3:00 PM, 7:30 PM-10:00 PM.
