Bonança

Bonança occupies the building of the Lisbon Naval Association at Doca de Belém, and it’s impossible not to be swept up by the grandeur and energy of the space. A 1940 mural depicting King Manuel’s embassy procession to Pope Leo X dominates the room and inspires a kitchen that celebrates the sea with dishes like carabineiro rice. At night, the vibe shifts to music and dancing.

Fifty Seconds

The experience begins the moment you arrive. You need to reach the top of the Vasco da Gama Tower to discover Fifty Seconds. The name refers to the duration of the panoramic elevator ride. In the kitchen, Rui Silvestre pursues a second Michelin star with a tasting menu crafted with precision and mastery—bold, spiced, and acidic, fresh and intense.

In Santa Joana, inside the Locke hotel, the chef presents authorial, comforting cuisine rooted in Portuguese tradition, showcasing local and seasonal products. The space is large yet cozy, highlighted by a long counter where cold dishes are served. To finish, head upstairs to Kissaten for a drink.

Seen by Olivier

The view is unbeatable and the vibe festive, as Olivier da Costa knows so well how to craft. On the top floor of the Tivoli Avenida, Seen is the right choice for those who enjoy lively, well‑watered dinners. There’s a well‑composed cocktail list, and to eat, sushi is part of the draw, but there’s much more (tacos, salads, carpaccios, pastas, fish and meat dishes). At the panoramic Sky Bar, lunch is also available.

Sun–Thu 6:30 PM–1:00 AM; Fri–Sat 6:30 PM–2:00 AM.

Yakuza

Among Olivier da Costa’s several concepts, Yakuza is one of his most solid brands. Near Avenida da Liberdade, the restaurant’s fusion sushi sits alongside Japanese grill offerings, hot dishes, and the odd unexpected creation—no Olivier restaurant without a good dose of surprise. The space is beautiful, vibrant, and lively.

Brilhante

Reviving the spirit of Lisbon’s old brasseries, Brilhante is imposing. The counter is at the center of everything, though there are also secluded tables. Luís Gaspar has created an instant classic with the Bife à Brilhante, inspired by the old Bife à Marrare served in the historic Lisbon cafés—the house’s star dish. The bar boasts a whiskey selection hard to find in Lisbon, with references from several countries.

Rocco

Extravagant and sophisticated, and it’s no exaggeration to say it has one of Lisbon’s most beautiful counters. In the heart of Chiado, Rocco is essentially divided into three areas (four, if you count the restroom as a must-see). At the counter, the small plates follow Portuguese tradition; in the dining room, cozier and overlooking the Terrace, the menu features Italian classics. At the crudo bar, the focus is on seafood, paired with Champagne, sparkling wine, or Prosecco. Breakfast is also available.

Mon–Sun 8:00 AM–1:00 AM.
