Alhinho
The fresh fish on display is a highlight, but the tapas are equally worth the visit—marinated horse mackerel, Bulhão Pato-style clams, octopus salad, and shrimp with garlic. The seafood is also excellent and fresh, with very reasonable prices.
Mon-Thu 12:00-15:00, Fri-Sat 12:00-22:00.

Vista
In a street where the noise of bars dominates, this hidden gem awaits. Overlooking Praia da Rocha, the restaurant at Bela Vista Hotel & Spa, with one Michelin star, is a gateway to a refined world. João Oliveira discovered the Algarve and showcases it in every dish on the menu. The service is attentive and flawless, and the dining room is bright and beautiful.
Tue-Sat 19:00-21:00.

Cervejaria Lúcio
Tourists don’t seem to linger here much, perhaps put off by the tavern-like, old-fashioned appearance—little do they know that’s part of its charm. And then there's the ultra-fresh seafood at very reasonable prices (some of the best barnacles can be found here), and the beer is always ice cold.
Tue-Sun 12:15-15:00, 19:00-22:30.

Ocean
With two Michelin stars (and perhaps three in the near future), Ocean is one of the best restaurants in the country. A once-in-a-lifetime experience that begins the moment you walk through its grand doors and catch sight of the ocean from the dining room. Respected and admired by his peers, Hans Neuner is now one of the world's top chefs. The menu is a true journey, without any clichés.
Wed-Sun 19:00-22:00.

Café dos Mestres
The outdoor seating is as simple as it gets, with plastic chairs and tables, but the location is everything. In Largo 1.º de Maio, right next to the Ria Formosa, you’ll find the best fresh fish. The seafood display and the grill are in full view. The tuna belly is a real treat.
Thu-Mon 10:00-15:00, 18:00-21:30.

Naperon
In a village so typical and rustic, Hugo Nascimento opened a contemporary restaurant that could thrive in any cosmopolitan city. At Naperon, the chef brings haute cuisine to the region, serving the best it has to offer through two creative and sophisticated tasting menus in a cool ambiance.
Tue-Sat 19:00-23:00.

Tia Bia
Algarve cuisine isn't just about the sea, and Tia Bia is one of the best places to experience the flavors of the inland mountains. Located at the foot of the Caldeirão Mountain Range, it has a homey atmosphere (hence the name). The menu highlights game dishes, such as stewed wild boar.
Tue-Fri 12:00-15:00, 19:00-21:00. Sat 08:00-21:30. Mon 12:00-15:00, 19:00-21:00

Centro Cultural dos Montes Novos
This is one of those places that only locals seem to know about—it's a hidden gem and should stay that way. Tucked away in the Algarve mountains, it is home to the Cooperativa Agrícola and Centro Cultural dos Montes Novos. The menu is deeply Portuguese (and deeply delicious).
