One ingredient, dozens of possibilities. That’s the essence of Casa do Polvo, where every dish revolves around octopus—it’s the specialty of Santa Luzia, after all. Noélia

When talking about restaurants in the Algarve, Noélia (named after its renowned chef) is usually the first recommendation—and for good reason: dishes full of flavor and high-quality ingredients, mostly sourced locally. The chef is passionate about the Ria Formosa and pays tribute to it through her food. While the starters are more creative, the main courses are classics, like the famous lemon rice with corvina. q

A Ver Tavira

Probably and unfairly the most underrated Michelin-starred restaurant, but what Luís Brito does here is serious business. The chef looks to the region and represents it impeccably on the plate, in an unexpected way. Located in the city's historic center, near the castle, the restaurant features a magnificent balcony with a stunning city view.

When the product is top-quality, there’s no need to overcomplicate things—this is the key to this old seafood restaurant’s success. The fish tanks in the dining room are a standout feature. Fermento

Somewhere between a bistro and a natural wine bar, Fermento is a must for those who love creative cuisine without rigid rules—except for using high-quality ingredients. Italian cuisine has a strong influence, given the owners’ origins, but don’t expect anything conventional. The results are always full of flavor.
