Híbrido

At Híbrido, João Narigueta proves that traditional Alentejan cuisine can take many forms, all of them surprisingly delicious. It’s experimental cuisine, so it’s no surprise that, with technique and knowledge, the chef constantly changes the menu.

Tue-Fri 7:00 PM-10:00 PM / Sat 12:30 PM-3:00 PM, 7:00 PM-10:00 PM.

Cavalariça Évora

Located in the Palácio dos Duques de Cadaval, it couldn’t be more beautiful. The restaurant is bright and has an Andalusian-inspired patio that invites you to stay. In the kitchen, creativity is put at the service of good products. If in doubt about what to choose, there’s a tasting menu.

Wed-Sun 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, 7:00 PM-9:30 PM.

Taberna Típica Quarta-Feira

It’s one of the city’s best-kept secrets. As soon as you walk through the door, it’s hard not to feel like you’re in a friend’s home. And, just like at a friend’s house, the menu isn’t announced. It depends on the creativity of the kitchen and the ingredients of the day. One thing is certain: the Alentejan influence. It’s a place to trust.

Tue-Sat 12:30 PM-3:00 PM, 7:30 PM-10:00 PM.

Tua Madre

Francesco Ogliari and Marisa Tiago have created something unique and full of identity in Évora, which is why they’re talked about in the national gastronomic scene today. In the kitchen, Francesco has the ability to blend Italian cuisine with Alentejan recipes, always using local ingredients and a contemporary touch. The restaurant is small but full of charm.

Larau

The story isn’t new, and we’ve seen it work before. After working in well-rounded kitchens, three young chefs decided to return to their roots and apply their knowledge in an unpretentious restaurant where the product is carefully chosen. There’s technique, flavor, and fun.

Wed-Thu 12:30 PM-3:30 PM / Fri-Sat 12:30 PM-3:00 PM, 7:30 PM-10:00 PM.

Casa do Gadanha

You’ve always eaten well in Estremoz, but in recent years the city has become a gastronomic destination, largely thanks to the work of the couple Michele Marques and Ruben Trindade. It all started at Mercearia Gadanha, where Michele pays homage to the Alentejo with signature dishes. Ruben, on the other hand, heads the restaurant at Casa do Gadanha, where you can either share dishes at the table or opt for the tasting menu, always seasonal and reflective of the region.

Fri-Tue 12:30 PM-2:30 PM, 7:20 PM-9:30 PM.

JNcQUOI Beach Club

If it’s JNcQUOI, you already know that no detail has been left to chance. It starts with the beachside restaurant, where you can see the sea from any angle – the work of Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen. For food, there are classics from the Lisbon restaurant, but the main focus is on fish and paellas with excellent Portuguese products.

Mon-Sun 12:00 PM-6:00 PM.

Cavalariça

Opened in 2018, it quickly became Comporta’s breakout restaurant, then under the creative direction of chef Bruno Caseiro. Today, Cavalariça remains one of the region’s reference tables—even after the founding chef’s departure—and it has already added a new location in Évora. In Comporta, the menu is still seasonal, making the most of local produce and the proximity to the sea. The philosophy stands: dishes designed to be shared, without fuss.

Wed-Sun 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, 7:00 PM-9:30 PM.

Almo

O Almo is an example of how businesses can transform over the years to adapt to new times. It was once a café and pastry shop and, since 2021, has been a restaurant with a focus on local and seasonal products. The menu is an exercise in simplicity and sophistication, much like the restaurant itself – which is quite beautiful, by the way.

Tue-Sat 9:00 AM-10:00 PM / Sun 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.

Dona Bia

It’s one of the great classics of Comporta, known especially for dishes made with regional rice. The coriander rice, always brothy and full of flavor, is the perfect accompaniment to any fried fish (you’ll often find small mackerel and galo fish fillets). The atmosphere is very relaxed, as you’d expect in a beach area.

Wed-Sun 12:15 PM-3:30 PM, 7:30 PM-10:30 PM / Mon 12:15 PM-3:30 PM.
