Tia Bia
Algarve cuisine isn't just about the sea, and Tia Bia is one of the best places to experience the flavors of the inland mountains. Located at the foot of the Caldeirão Mountain Range, it has a homey atmosphere (hence the name). The menu highlights game dishes, such as stewed wild boar.

Centro Cultural dos Montes Novos
This is one of those places that only locals seem to know about—it's a hidden gem and should stay that way. Tucked away in the Algarve mountains, it is home to the Cooperativa Agrícola and Centro Cultural dos Montes Novos. The menu is deeply Portuguese (and deeply delicious).

Cervejaria Ferradura
Unfortunately, places like this are becoming rare. Cervejaria Ferradura is an old-school tavern, perfect for a drink and a few bites—although, with the steady stream of petiscos (small plates), you can easily make a full meal. The percebes (goose barnacles) are a must.
Mon-Sat 12:30-14:30, 18:00-00:00

Bocaxeia
Unpretentious and humble, focused on just one thing: serving well (and heaven help anyone who leaves hungry!). The highlight is the grill, positioned right at the entrance. Bocaxeia is known for its all-you-can-eat fish mix, featuring sardines, mackerel, sea bream, and whatever else comes in fresh that day—all at a steal (with €20, you’ll even get some change).
Tue-Sat 12:00-15:00, 19:30-22:00. Sun 12:00-15:00

Sitio do Forno
The view of Amado Beach in Carrapateira is already a major highlight—and the sunset is unbeatable. Fortunately, the food is just as good. Start with fresh seafood and follow up with a cataplana or seafood rice. You won’t regret it, and you’ll definitely want to return.
Tue-Sun 12:30-00:00

Lobo do Mar
By the beach, it has a small terrace and a cozy dining room. This is the right place if you’re looking for fresh fish and seafood. The seafood platters, in particular, are the main attraction. There are different sizes and combinations, featuring everything from oysters to shrimp, crab, cockles, and clams.
Tue-Sat 12:00-15:00, 18:30-22:30. Sun 12:00-15:00

Authentic
Authentic opened with the goal of becoming a luxury dining reference, known not just for its cuisine but for its ambiance. The decor is bold, with gold and dark tones, display cases with jewelry and rare bottles, a private room with its own entrance, and Versace-clad bathrooms. Ricardo Luz, a chef with Michelin-starred experience, leads the open kitchen, focusing on comfort cuisine.
Wed-Sun 18:00-23:00

O Nosso Franguinho
In a land of fish and seafood, chicken also has its place, but not just any chicken. This is Frango da Guia, small and succulent, with crispy, golden skin. One of the best places to try it is this churrascaria, highly recommended by many local chefs.
