Ribeira do Poço
Ribeira do Poço is the kind of restaurant worth making a detour for—hence, reserving a table is a must to avoid disappointment. Barnacles are the specialty, arriving fresh every day, sometimes even twice a day. The fish display completes the meal.
Tue-Sun 13:00-22:00

Casa do Polvo – Tasquinha
One ingredient, dozens of possibilities. That’s the essence of Casa do Polvo, where every dish revolves around octopus—it’s the specialty of Santa Luzia, after all. There are over ten different octopus dishes, not counting starters—the octopus fritters are fantastic. The hardest part may be choosing, but rest assured, everything is excellent.
Mon 12:00-14:45. Wed-Sun 12:00-14:45, 18:30-21:45.

Noélia
When talking about restaurants in the Algarve, Noélia (named after its renowned chef) is usually the first recommendation—and for good reason: dishes full of flavor and high-quality ingredients, mostly sourced locally. The chef is passionate about the Ria Formosa and pays tribute to it through her food. While the starters are more creative, the main courses are classics, like the famous lemon rice with corvina. q
Thu-Tue 12:30-15:00, 19:00-22:00.

Marisqueira Rui
When the product is top-quality, there’s no need to overcomplicate things—this is the key to this old seafood restaurant’s success. The fish tanks in the dining room are a standout feature. The menu is extensive, especially when it comes to seafood. The seafood rice pots are a house specialty and couldn't be better served.
Wed-Sun 12:00-16:00, 18:00-23:00.

A Sagres
A simple and honest restaurant with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The menu focuses on fresh fish and seafood, prepared according to traditional recipes. Some dishes shine on the grill, while others are best in rice or cataplanas. A great choice for a laid-back meal.
Fri-Tue 12:00-16:00, 18:30-21:30.

O Jacinto
This traditional restaurant has stood the test of time due to its quality. Divided into two rooms, the space is cozy and welcoming. The menu includes clams, crab, spider crab, cockles, fish roe and octopus salads, and whatever is fresh that day. Besides the excellent grilled fish, the rice dishes (monkfish or razor clam) and the cataplanas stand out.
Tue-Sun 12:00-15:00, 19:00-22:30.

Alhinho
The fresh fish on display is a highlight, but the tapas are equally worth the visit—marinated horse mackerel, Bulhão Pato-style clams, octopus salad, and shrimp with garlic. The seafood is also excellent and fresh, with very reasonable prices.
Mon-Thu 12:00-15:00, Fri-Sat 12:00-22:00.

Cervejaria Lúcio
Tourists don’t seem to linger here much, perhaps put off by the tavern-like, old-fashioned appearance—little do they know that’s part of its charm. And then there's the ultra-fresh seafood at very reasonable prices (some of the best barnacles can be found here), and the beer is always ice cold.
Tue-Sun 12:15-15:00, 19:00-22:30.

Café dos Mestres
The outdoor seating is as simple as it gets, with plastic chairs and tables, but the location is everything. In Largo 1.º de Maio, right next to the Ria Formosa, you’ll find the best fresh fish. The seafood display and the grill are in full view. The tuna belly is a real treat.
Thu-Mon 10:00-15:00, 18:00-21:30.
