Fialho
It’s the most well-known and recommended restaurant in Évora (and surrounding areas), and there’s no shortage of reasons for that. It’s a classic, a bastion of traditional Alentejan cuisine, with old-fashioned, very attentive service. The lamb stew and dogfish soup are some of the specialties. A warning: don’t venture here without a reservation, especially on weekends.
Tue-Sun 12:30 PM-3:00 PM, 7:30 PM-10:00 PM.

Dona Bia
It’s one of the great classics of Comporta, known especially for dishes made with regional rice. The coriander rice, always brothy and full of flavor, is the perfect accompaniment to any fried fish (you’ll often find small mackerel and galo fish fillets). The atmosphere is very relaxed, as you’d expect in a beach area.

O Alpendre

Porto Santana
The cuisine is traditional, with small plates mostly from the Alentejo— the tomato soup is excellent, and if you’re lucky enough to find jaquinzinhos (fried baby horse mackerel), don’t miss them. At Porto Santana, Dália welcomes guests as if they were in her own home. In warm wood tones, the restaurant feels cozy and family-run.

Ti Choa
In the wood-fired oven, both bread and the house specialties are cooked to perfection, including alcatra (a traditional slow-cooked beef dish) and bean stew. Ti Choa is a typical family restaurant where you’ll quickly feel at home. The Azores are served at the table. Don’t leave without trying the vinegar pudding.

Beira Mar
In the Azores, fish is king, with unparalleled quality and freshness. That’s exactly what Beira Mar, overlooking the São Mateus harbor, offers in its purest form. There are no gimmicks or pretensions—just a genuine restaurant you’ll always want to return to.
