Vida de Tasca

Leonor Godinho swapped a career in fine dining for a more informal path. After several adventures in the kitchen, she took over a tavern in Alvalade that was about to close and revived it without changing its spirit. She refined the menu, keeping the grilled dishes and daily specials. Everything is good and affordable.

Quinta de Brence

Slightly outside the center of Guimarães, Quinta de Brence is a gastronomic experience from the start. It’s only open on Saturdays and Sundays, and no table stays empty due to high demand. On the menu, there’s a variety of snacks (gizzards, codfish salad) as well as hearty dishes, with arroz de cabidela (rice cooked in blood) standing out. Surprisingly, they also make homemade pizzas, and they’re very good.
